The itchy desire to touch it!!

What is the difference between writing with a ball point pen, a fountain pen,a pencil? It is the type of impression they make on the paper but what is similar is the feeling You tend to get on scratching a paper using them. What is the difference between writing with a pen and typing using keyboard? What? I can't compare these two, though purpose is same, both are used to record history but yet there is nothing common in them, they even do not feel the same.I wonder while I hear myself answering this statement , when was the last time I rotated a pen on top of my thumb- a very particular set of skill which students acquire when a pen is said to be a best pal at that age. When was the last time I wrote and filled a paper completely with words. In the name of writing I am doing nothing, merely taking down numbers , sometime taking down notes that too using keywords only and when there is need drawing diagrams where square looks like a circle.
The technology has really advanced . Let us take an example of technological advancement in the field of writing instruments. There has been a tectonic shift in the area of writing forms. From "a cave man scratching pictures with the sharpened-stone tool onto the walls of his cave dwelling to represent events in  his daily life such as the planting of crops or hunting victories" via "making ample amount of preparation before You sat down to write using a quill(a bird's feather)" via "dipping a fountain pen in a bottle of ink and scratching on a paper cursively yet elegantly to avoid the deposit of ink on the paper" via "war amongst corporate houses to become best ball point pen selling company of the world".Oh Yeah!!Now I remember my favorite it was 045 Reynolds fine carbure. But now I don't need to ponder over these historical advancements and go to a stationery shop every six or seven days to get a refill for my pens all thanks to my keypad(s).

I was shocked to see BABA , not that he is any slim now but rather a pen was tucked in the pocket of his shirt :-o.Hats off BABA!!Nowadays there are people having more laptops, macbooks than pens and pencils altogether in their houses.I find it very common people asking for pen at various places like banks, post offices, even at there companies help desks. And what is even more mirthful to watch is people queuing up for the same pen. भाई साहब आपका हो जाएगा तो मुझे भी दे देना!! (Bhai sahab! once You are done please pass it to me).I am myself a familiar face in these queues. You need not to mention what do You want but the person will understand Your plight :). A pen would have never been in so much demand earlier thanks again to the latest p5,i3,i7 processors and mobile phones with extra ordinary facilities to save drafts and do calculations when You cannot open your laptop.Where are the adds which Amitabh Bacchan and Shahrukh Khan were doing for their respective brands, I can't find them either. Is it that the marketing costs are not matching the sales acquired.Or is it that the student makers have accepted the fact that the dusk has arrived and it is time to say good bye!!
Whatever the case may be I feel there is nothing common when comparing a typing speed and writing speed. The writing is identity of a person but typing is a way to conceal the identity.Using typed texts You can only analyze the strength of a person's grammatical abilities but You can't judge his artistic skills, his introvert or his extrovert nature, you can't tell if he is consistent in his thinking. The touch of a pen,the grip of it, making rotation intermediately, chewing the pen we are missing every bit of it.I could have named the title as "story of a sad pen" but truly my desire to use it is far more stronger.

My Message:- Let us hold our respective used to be favorite pen and have a 2 minutes silence in the name of it!!
